Finally Got my New Camera!

So I finally Broke down and purchased myself a brand new Canon 5D Mark III!!! for obvious reasons I am very, very excited! I just wanted to post a few images that I took during my first week with it, so bear in mind I am still getting used to how well it performs.

With 61 Autofocus Points (each of which is individually selectable) this camera provides unparalleled, albeit exceptionally confusing to use, Focusing Abilities.

Moreover, it is a huge step up from my previous T2i, in that, its ISO speed is very Grain free even when used at High Levels.

Great Blue Heron, near Trenton.

Seagull Taking off. I might have Chased him to get this image....

But Seriously, no animals were harmed in the making of this blog post.

Angel Wings?

And finally he decided he had, had enough and took wing for real this time.... So long!

It has become excruciatingly clear that I have a thing for Photographing Avian life......

Lake Ontario Swan

1964 Chevy Impala. it is by the way for sale, only 12K....

Cute German Shepard Trying to Cool off in Bellville, waiting for his owner to come out of Tim Hortons and Take him along.

My Cat Whiskers, doing her best Lioness Impression.

....and just straight up trying to look adorable.
Trying to Show off the Vignetting in the Nifty 50 (50mm F1.8)

Beautiful Lily Pads, in a pond near Trenton. (Same place I saw the Heron)

Flowers in my Backyard. Just testing the Macro, and Vignetting of my lenses.

Great Lakes Terns!

Beautiful Birds, it really is something to see them Hunt! From about 100 feet in the air, they just drop out of the sky and into the water to Catch Fish.

The Canon 5D mark III had a built in HDR mode, which allows it to take 3 pictures, at different Exposure levels, and then combine them, to form one photograph, with all the best highlights and contrast of each picture. unfortunately it doesn't fair well with moving Subjects...

It does Alright with Stationary Subjects however. Although I have not yet mastered this type of Photography yet, I do think it still gives a bit of an unrealistic look to images, and moreover it looks a bit cartoonish.

So, It's been a while....

Alright I know it's been a while since I last posted here, but lets just pretend it hasn't been, Ok?

I recently went to the lake with some of my friends, and being me brought along my camera, and being me took quite a few pictures of Birds... I may have some sort of Avian Obsession.

Please excuse my the fact that I didn't manage to align my shot with the horizon,
I didn't really have much time to take this shot before these Canadian Geese landed
and wanted to get the shot.
And yes, they are sticking their tongues out at you!

Some more Canadian Geese, framed very well against the backdrop of,
the Downtown Toronto Skyline.

A young male Mallard coming in for a landing.

The water was Crystal Clear that day. it was probably because it was still cold
enough to prevent algae growth, but I am sure that, that will not last very long.

A very stark reminder that despite the warm(ish) weather we are having, we are
still very much within the clutches of Old Man Winters' Cold Hands.

Brrr. Enough said....

So I am starting a new trend, I got tired of all the "Duckfaces" on Facebook,
and the Internet as a whole, so now I want to try "Swan Face"

"Come at me Bro!"

"I want a hug!"

I am pretty sure that he was doing some sort of territorial display, especially
since he and his "Friend" had been proving that Spring was in the air, just a
few moments before I took this set of pictures...

New Hairstyle, the "Gull Wing Hawk" sort of like the faux hawk, but with
more "Like I even Care" attitude mixed in.

Moar Bird Face!
