My Poor Nikon

Me and my Nikon made it through think and thin together that camera has been to Las Vegas, New York City, Washington D.C., Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, and many Others, but alas, it seems none of these cities held the same frightening power that Vaughn Ontario had.

Canada's Wonderland you and "The Behemoth" deprived me of my little camera!
This is a momento to that camera.

In lieu of flowers Please, Keep your money and take your own cameras on a vacation with you......

Wonderland, Oh How I Wonder....

I visited Canada's Wonderland For the first yesterday! Yay! Thanks to a friend of mine i got a sweet discount on the tickets, and managed to make some new friends! But the day wasn't all roses, I managed to lose my old Camera (My Nikon NOT my new shiny Canon (attempt at a silver lining....Success!)). And as such I don't have too many pictures of the day to show...Did decide on occasion to release my IPod from its prison within my pocket for a couple of pictures

Photo Cred; Canada's Wonderland

Speaking of my Camera this is the Behemoth "Canada's biggest, fastest & tallest coaster ever - Behemoth"

Apparently I lost my camera on a ride that manages to travel at 125Km/Hr and Logically implies that there is little to no chance of it being found intact....Oh well...Anyway this was the first ride we went on, right as the park opened up, even despite our early go on it there was still a titanic queue.
The Koi in the streams throughout the park were giant!
 "The Bat" mid loop!
Also "The Bat"

All in all a very good day! Thank you to Nicole for organizing!

Scenes From Southern Ontario

Some common scenes around The Shwa and The G.T.A. over the past few years. Not too much just was going through some of my old Pictures and decided to share!

This One was actually Taken today on my ipod.
Not quite the amazing double rainbow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MX0D4oZwCsA But still very nice.

 Downtown Toronto.
Hahaha one of the Olympic Torch Bearers Came to the restaurant I worked in with her torch and was letting people take pictures with her and it and I was not missing that opportunity regardless of my work attire....

Sunset behind The Shwa City Hall while still under construction last year.
Red-Tailed Hawk The picture really doesn't do it justice.

Cement Processing Plant in Bowmanville, it just looked really, out of place.

Toronto, I Love You!

A day in Toronto is one day that normally can't be beat and this time was no exception! I took a tour through Downtown and the High Park, stopped off at the Eaton Centre for lunch and Wrapped up the day wandering the Waterfront.
High Park Sign.
Baby Birdie! (I think it's a Gold Finch, but I'm not sure.
The same Baby Birdie, but with Momma Birdie here to feed him.
Swans in Grenadier Pond, High Park.
Mr. turtle also in Grenadier Pond, High Park.

Ducks in Wendingo Pond, High Park.
High Park has many streams and paths that twist and wind their way throughout the area, Producing many scenes such as this.
The Downtown Core From Grenadier Pond, High Park.
The iconic CN Tower. What day visiting Toronto could be complete without taking at lest one picture of it?
Most of the large buildings in the CBD.

The CN Towers newest attraction, Edgewalk in the Last stages of construction, behind the blue construction screen there are a couple of workers finishing up.
 Union Station.
 The Skywalk.
 TTC Street Car.
What a Nice View to end my day off with. Oshawa, GO Transit Train Station.

Plain Old Southern Ontario

It seems that I have become a bit of a Nature Photographer, but only of the most common, most seen, and often most hated animals. Although that is likely due to the fact that I don’t really leave Oshawa or the surrounding area that much. Here is an assortment of animals that I’m sure that you are all familiar with. All of these pictures were taken on the Oshawa bicycle path.
 Common Grey Squirrel
Common Grey Squirrel with a cracker we fed to him.
Royal Canadian Air Force plane. I haven't the foggiest as to why it was flying above Oshawa.
Another squirrel, this time black.I am obviously an Equal opportunity photographer.
A Robbin that looks like it just came from a drink in the creek because her chest is all wet.
Nearly impossible to see fish. Surprisingly it also nearly impossible to photograph! Erm, that by the way was sarcasm I, I wasn't sure if that would come across in text or not.....
Blue Jay and a Red Wing Black Bird.
I'm pretty sure the Jay just took a bath he is soaking wet.
 Red Wing calling.

When I got home and started to enjoy my dinner on my balcony I looked up and hovering over the trees were hundreds of these tiny bugs. Not really sure what they are but it's quite disconcerting to see hundreds of insects flying just a few feet from your dinner as you try to eat it....

Another Biking Trip to Farmland

So, with another beautiful day gracing Oshawa and the surrounding areas I decided to take to the two-wheeler again and hit up Port Perry. Port Perry is about thirty kilometers from where I live so it is a fair distance to travel by bicycle. At about fifteen kilometers from home i come across "The Oak Ridges Moraine", a very large series of hills and valleys that was made by the recession of the glaciers. Turning my camera around at the top of this hill got me these;

As i was taking those i noticed a huge bird flying around above me. After reviewing it looks like a Turkey Vulture. Ooh! The rear and elusive Turkey Vulture!
Cute Baby Lambs on my way home.

And farmland. Now a common scene for me....

All in all it was a pretty good trip rounding in at around Sixty Kilometers!
Wow! A hundred kilometers in two days? Maybe it's time for a break then....
